Christmas Candy Garland: Use real candy and create this simple and inexpensive garland for your holiday decor.
The perfect addition to your holiday decor this year is this Christmas Candy Garland.
It's November 1st, Halloween is finally over, and now we can get onto my favourite time of year, Christmas! I love everything about it, the food, the decorations, the music, the sparkles, the movies, the shopping, the gifts, the true meaning, -everything!
I am helping to host a women's event this Friday night at my church, on Christmas preparations. The decor is red, white, and green, with a Christmas candy theme. A fun project I wanted to make for the Christmas tree is this candy garland.
Materials:
- individually wrapped peppermint candies in red and green
- hot glue gun
How To Make A Candy Garland:
1. I found round, individually wrapped peppermint candies at the dollar store, and bought 3 bags.
2. I used my glue gun to glue the wrappers end to end, alternating green and red, to make a long candy garland. Just be careful not to bun your fingers as you work.
I think the final result is really "sweet", and can't wait to see it on the candy themed Christmas tree!
Cost: I already had the glue gun and glue, I used 3 bags of $1 candy, so total cost = $3

Great idea. I used curling ribbon and tied each candy to the next. I used one knot on the first candy and a double knot when adding the next candy. I hope this helps for people without a glue gun. It made a great wreath for the church bazaar.

Adorable Idea! I've made something similar by gluing the candy mints to wide ribbon, but I think I like your idea better. I wonder if it would work to make one of these, then affix it to wire, in order to create a shaped form? You've given me a lot to think about - thanks so much!

What a GREAT idea! I am tired of sticky, partially eaten candy canes being stuck to everything & ending up having to throw most of the canes away after Christmas. Definitely going to give this a try! 🙂
