Mustard Yellow and PInk Summer Home Tour: a neutral space gets some colour with yellow and pink decor including candles, flowers, pillows, and new art.
I'm switching things up a little around here for summer. This neutral loving girl is adding in some colour. I've paired trendy mustard yellow with trendy pink, and I love how warm, and happy it's making our house feel. This summer it's yellow and pink decor for the win!
Front Entrance
When you come in our front door, it leads into the dining room. Our pretty console table by the front door is all dressed up for the season. I had so much fun adding yellow and pink decor throughout my main floor for summer.
The beautiful art work is from JessaMaePhoto who has the prettiest etsy shop. This Carnival Dreams piece is so fun and I love how summery it feels. I also added in a vintage fan, some luggage, and some garden flowers for that perfect summer feel.
The Dining Room
Dining Room Table
I was inspired by some of my favourite Instagram accounts to try this pretty colour scheme. Once I started looking, I began seeing this colour combo everywhere. Mustard yellow couldn't be hotter right now. And these colours would transition really easily into fall too. I added lots of little touches -things like candles, vases, cushions, throws, and flowers. Having a neutral base makes it easy to add in any accent colour.
The dining room table is simple with a fun and inexpensive runner. It's actually a very thin rug from Five Below that I folded in half and used as a table runner. 😉 I added my vintage amber glass collection here since it worked so well with the warm colour scheme.
Wall Hanging
On the wall in the dining room I added this pretty branch wall hanging I DIY'd.
We did something really similar with fresh flowers for my daughter's birthday and it was so pretty that it inspired me to create a more permanent version.
The flowers are from the craftstore, and strung with some twine. I added some twinkle lights to the top.
I'm excited for some more picnics this summer. And two cute vintage picnic baskets are standing by, ready for duty as required.
Summer Bar Cart
The little bar cart is all ready for summer too.
I've got the drink dispenser ready -filled with lemons for now. My pink glasses and pretty paper straws make me want a lemonade.
From the dining room, we're led into the living room.
Yellow and Pink Deco in the Living Room
This space is feeling so inviting with the pink and mustard yellow.
Fireplace
On the fireplace I made this fun DIY Book Art piece -you can find the whole tutorial on how I made it here. I also added some pretty pink flowering branches.
The brass candles and even the pretty coloured candle sticks are all thrift store finds and I love how they look here.
Pillowscape
Over on the couch I added the most beautiful collection of pillows and an awesome throw blanket.
I've actually wanted one of these light gauze cotton throws for ages and I love this beautiful colour. This mustard blanket is so soft and cozy, and perfect for curling up in on a summer evening when the patio door is open and you're watching tv. It's from Natures Sweet Creation. Melissa has the most beautiful etsy shop, and so many amazing colours of gauze blankets to choose from.
I've also added in lots of pretty pillows in pinks and mustard yellow.
Over on the other side of the room, I added a few DIY tassels to my large glass bottles.
I love how boho they feel, and how it's a chance to add another little pop of colour and texture to the space.
Kitchen
Eating Area
Over into our kitchen, I've added this fun vintage lace table cloth to the table along with my vintage Hungarian Pickle Jars, filled with some mini lights.
And on the other side of the kitchen table, this little spot has become a favourite of mine to change a bit with each season.
The driftwood sticks are some that I painted a couple of years ago -you can see the whole tutorial here. I covered up some blue paint with my mustard yellow and they were perfect for this year's colour scheme.
The art piece is from another from JessaMaePhoto, the same as the dining room piece. It fits our colours perfectly and the ferris wheel certainly feels like summer. On top of the art I layered on some lights inspired by the round bulb ones on any ferris wheel or midway ride at night. These fun tassels made of cotton string and dip dyed in kool-aid -find the whole tutorial on how I made the tassels here.
In keeping with the fair theme, I added a few classic fair treats -cotton candy, and giant lollipops!
Over on the other side of the kitchen, I added some mustard yellow and pink decor touches to our open shelves.

Another fun addition to the shelves were these pretty amber glass dessert bowls I found out thrifting last week. Perfect for some after dinner ice cream this summer.
Over on the other side of the kitchen, you can see some pretty wild flowers and branches that I used in my decor.
