Cozy Fall Bedroom: 5 simple ways to make your bedroom cozy for fall, like candles, layers, books, natural elements, and neutral decor.
It's that time of year. The air is getting colder, the leaves are starting to turn colour, and the days are getting shorter. It's fall, and it's time to get cozy. I added a few simple touches to my bedroom for fall to add to the cozy feel.
1. Add Cozy Layers
Bring out all the cozy throws, the fur pillows, and the extra layers.
It's time to put your warm duvet back on the bed, and bring out that fuzzy wool blanket you love. Layers add not only warmth to the space, but interest and texture.
2. Candles And Twinkle Lights
With the days getting shorter and the nights getting longer, it's time to light a candle in the evening and turn on the twinkle lights. Candles add so much ambience to a room.
And now a days with battery operated twinkle lights it's so easy to add a little sparkle to any space. While you're at it, consider adding a dimer to your room to create the perfect glow, and make sure you have some great bedside lamps for reading.
3. Bring Out All The Books
Snuggling up indoors means a cozy reading chair. I've moved over this handsome grey wing back, and added in a little foot stool with some pillows for the fall.
It's time to dig into some reading this fall. Remember those books you bought for your summer vacation but never actually got around to reading? Now is the time to enjoy them, and some of your old favourites too. Cuddle up for a bedtime story with the kids, and then once they're asleep spend the rest of the night with one of your favourites.
4. Add Some Natural Elements
One of my very favourite ways to decorate for any season is to bring the outside in.
For fall that means adding in some mini pumpkins to just about any space in your home will make it feel dressed for the season.
I've also added in these pretty grasses. They grow near my house and I love how much texture they add to space.
5. Keep It Neutral
Fall decor doesn't have to be all about the orange. Pick up some white pumpkins for a calm, neutral fall feel. Check out heirloom pumpkins and squash in whites, greys, and greens to work with your neutral decor.
I've also included some pretty book page leaves -see the tutorial here to make your own.
The velvet pumpkins are neutral too, and add some great softness.
This bedroom is all ready for fall with these simple touches.
