My family loves trail mix, so I thought it would be fun to make a special Easter Trail Mix this year. This "Bunny Bait" is loaded with all the regular trail mix favourites as well as some fun Easter editions.
I love the idea of using this as a slightly less sugary, better for you choice for Easter egg fillers and Easter baskets. It also looks great in a pretty glass container on your counter. My experience is this Easter treat doesn't last long though, since this Easter snack mix seems to be a favourite with everyone. How about a large bowl of this for Easter movie nights with the kids? It's one of my favourite easy treats for special occasions in the spring.
The Perfect Gift
The Bunny Bait is also perfect for gift giving. Tie the snack mix up in a cello bag with one of our beautiful tags, or put some into a pretty mason jar. Bring this fun treat as a hostess gift for an Easter gathering, or how about as a special gift for the Sunday School teacher, coach, or piano teacher this Easter holiday? This little sweet treat would be a fun addition to any class parties too this Easter season. The possibilities are endless. I'm sure whether you enjoy this special treat yourself, with family, or as a gift that you'll love it.
How To Make Bunny Bait Easter Trail Mix
What I really love about making your own Bunny Bait, is that you can customize the items to whatever your family loves. As with most trail mixes, you want to do a combination of
- nuts and seeds
- dried fruit,
- some snacky treats like mini crackers and pretzels,
- and a few sweet Easter candy treats too.
These simple ingredients combined, make such a great easy Easter trail mix recipe. You'll also so want to remember to include some different colors to make the bunny bait trail mix more interesting. It's a fun idea to take advantage of the pretty spring pastel treats that are always available at Easter and use at least some of the more colorful options. There's so many fun seasonal treats that will make your Easter bunny bait recipe feel extra special for the season because they're items that you don't have all the time throughout the year, like Cadbury mini eggs. You also want some variation of shape and texture and size. Things like nuts are pretzel sticks are crunchy salty snacks, you want some dried fruit for its texture and sweetness. Marshmallows bring another texture to your bunny bait recipe.
