Christmas Dessert Board: use store bought treats to create this Christmas sweet treat snack board with lots of touches of pink.
Jump to:
Dessert boards, sweet snack boards, and charcuterie are so popular and fun I thought it would be fun to put together a Christmas dessert board for the holidays. All our treats for this board are store-bought treats from the grocery store, so it's really quick and easy to put together. But if you're a baker, homemade cookies would be wonderful. Or do a combination of homemade treats, and store-bought cookies. This a great way to serve sweet treats this holiday season. Everyone can help themselves and enjoy. Add one to your dessert table for a large gathering.
A traditional charcuterie board is full of cured meats, and now a days they tend to include not just meat, but a variety of cheeses and crackers and all the fixings to go with them. Our Christmas charcuterie board has a sweet twist, instead of the traditional meat board, it's full of desserts. And although technically not a charcuterie board anymore, because there are no cured meats involved, in recent years everyone is using this term to refer to anything served together on a big cutting board or tray, they're sometimes called grazing boards. An epic dessert charcuterie board is an easy dessert, or a great alternative to the regular cookie platter, or traditional old dessert platter.
This year we're celebrating a pink Christmas, so I added a few easy pink touches to the board too. You could do them in pink or in the more traditional red for Christmas.

Getting Started
To create this big board start with a large tray or wooden board as your base. Then create small groupings of all the different treats, directly on the board or in small bowls.
We started by adding a layer of different mixed marshmallows to the centre of the large board. We wanted a pink and white color scheme for our board so I only used the pink ones from the mixed mini marshmallows, and then added in some regular white mini marshmallows too. On top of the marshmallows we arranged the chocolate initials to say "Ho Ho Ho" in the center of the board. You often see this at Christmas as a stocking stuffer, but they were a really fun focal point for our board. We used milk chocolate, but look for them in dark chocolate if you prefer. And how cute would XO be for Valentine’s day?
Layering On The Treats
Next arrange the rest of the treats around the outside of the board, alternating different sizes, different shapes, and different colors. You will want to include a variety of textures and different tastes too, like peppermint, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and gingerbread -or all your favourite holiday flavors. Be sure to include your favorite Christmas cookies too.
Pink Christmas Tree Cakes
- Little Debbies Christmas tree cakes
- pink chocolate
As a fun way to add a pink detail to the Little Debbie cakes, melt some chocolate in the microwave, and snip off the corner of a ziplock bag to use as a piping bag. Pipe small dots of pink chocolate onto the cakes.
Santa Hat Oreos
- white chocolate dipped oreos
- pink chocolate
- white chocolate
- white sprinkles
Take your oreos to the next level, with cute Santa hats added to them. To make the Santa hat Oreo cookies, just melt some pink chocolate in the microwave. Place the melted pink chocolate in a ziplock bag and snip off the corner to make a piping bag. Use the pink chocolate to make a triangle Santa hat on the top of the cookie. Let the pink chocolate harden. Next do the same with the white chocolate and use it to make a pompom top and fur trim on the bottom of the hat. While the white chocolate is still wet and before it hardens, dip it in the white sprinkles.
Strawberry Santa Hats
- white powdered donuts
- fresh strawberries
- mini marshmallows
A little bit of fresh fruit is a great addition to your holiday dessert charcuterie board, and these strawberry Santa hats couldn't be any cuter. To make them, trim the bottom off of a strawberry and balance it on top of a donut. To make the pompom, trim the end off of a mini marshmallow to make it sticky and stick it to the top of the strawberry. These are so much fun, and sure to be a hit with the kids.
Chocolate Dipped Wafers
- wafer cookies
- pink chocolate
- sprinkles
Melt some pink chocolate in the microwave and dip the end of the wafer cookie in it. Put it on parchment paper to set, and while the chocolate is still wet add some sprinkles.
This board is really quick to put together since it's made of store-bought items, with just a few simple additions with chocolate and sprinkles. It's an easy way to serve sweets at a party. Sure to be the highlight of your next holiday get together.
With a perfect Christmas dessert board like this, life really is a party!
