Cozy Christmas Living Room: this cozy living room gets a forest feel for Christmas along with lots of boho touches and hygge vibes.
This year in our basement I wanted to create a cozy Christmas living room space for us to enjoy the fireplace, movie watching, and present opening. We always spend Christmas morning here, so that makes it extra special for us.
Our large leather sectional is the perfect comfy spot for snuggling up with all the pillows and throw blankets. This year I've add an assortment of black and white along with some green pillows and throws -which feels so perfect for Christmas. The back wall has birch bark wall paper, so this year I went with a bit of a forest theme for decorating. There are trees, trees, and more trees down here. It feels like a cozy little spot in the woods.
Boho Christmas Tree
The Christmas tree is dressed in black and white with a few additions of pretty gold. It definitely has a boho feel this year. I love these pretty DIY macrame ornaments. There's a full tutorial to make them here, but instead of little sticks there ones are on mini gold hoops -and they double as napkin rings. 😉
The pretty boho inspired ornaments are a fun DIY. I followed a great tutorial from Jennifer Rizzo and I love how they turned out.
And the rest of the tree is combination of pretty pine cones to go with our forest feel, muted gold balls, black balls, and these easy DIY Wooden Ball Ornaments. It's all finished off with some black herringbone ribbon and a simple gold paper star.
The Fireplace Mantel
Over on the fireplace, I used a fun combination of mini Christmas trees and birch trees. There's also a collection of brass candlesticks. The candlesticks are all thrift store finds, and they have a fun DIY dipped paint effect -see the tutorial here.
On the mantel I did a layered collection of faux pine, mini lights, yarn, Pom Pom trim, and this metal "Merry Christmas" banner -which was silver, but got a little makeover with some gold spray paint. 😉
One of my favourite details in the living room this Christmas are these fun snow globe-ish scenes. I used a few vintage glass large bottles and added some faux snow and bottle brush trees. These are so easy to put together and couldn't be cuter.
And on the other shelves over the tv I've added more trees and candlesticks along with a favourite simple Christmas village in white and gold.
And it wouldn't be Christmas without a disco ball thrown in for good measure. 😉
Over on the other side of the room I've continued the forest feel.
More Inspired Forest Touches
My little bar cart that usually lives in my dining room, is moved here for Christmas and I love it holding all the little forest trees.
There's quite a collection of faux trees here, and my favourite is probably another little scene in another vintage large glass bottle. I also added lots of fun pinecones.
And lastly over on the coffee table, there's another pretty little Christmas tree.
And I have a little glass terrarium here with more bottle brush trees. Along with a real antler we found out on a snowy walk in the forest behind our house a few years ago.
I also included a vintage green typewriter, with the beginnings of the nice list on it, along with some spectacles... could they belong to Santa himself?
It's a cozy little spot to enjoy all season long, full of hygge vibes and boho touches, perfect for snuggles.
With a cozy Christmas living room like this to enjoy, life really is a party!
