Forest Tea Party: tea and scones all set up in the woods with fun glamping camping accessories, and a camping inspired menu.
A highlight of my recent camping trip was putting together this forest tea party. I’m excited to share the oh so pretty pictures with you.
The Forest Tea Party Table
I started with layering some pretty vintage tablecloths. They are old ones vintage ones and they’re prefect for glamping.
I found the pretty old aqua mason jars at a garage sale for 50 cents, bargain of the summer, and filled them with some wild flowers. The cute little lantern was another great garage sale find and the perfect camping piece.
I used some simple white plates, along with some pretty vintage enamel mugs, I’ve been collecting at antique sales since the spring. Still need one more.
The large napkins are cotton tea towels, from the dollar store. I bought the acrylic stemless wine glasses, because I thought they were perfect for camping, or just out on the patio this summer. The pretty pink candle holders from Ikea have citronella candles in them to help keep the bugs away.
Cutlery and Tray Makeover
I really loved Poppytalk’s pretty cutlery for Target, and it inspired me to make my own re-usable version. I shopped some second hand stores, and collected some mis-matched cutlery. I tried to choose some that all had a similar swirly patterned handle.
I found the perfect hot pink spray paint for metal at Home Depot, and taped the cutlery to just paint the handles so that there’s no risk of the paint coming into contact with food.
I also did a cute little silver tray, also picked up at the second hand store.
I love how it turned out. It’s so, so pretty. Just make sure to hand wash.
And, the silver tray turned out great too. I used it here to hold some pretty paper napkins.
One of my other favourite details of the table was the pretty chandelier. My brother made this one for me years ago, and it’s never looked prettier than hanging in the woods.
The pretty bunting in the background was made from some vintage sheets, and hung in the trees.
Forest Tea Party Menu
- tea
- scones with jam and clotted cream
- shortbread
- gourmet s'mores
On the menu for the tea party, scones with jam and clotted cream, and the left overs were great for breakfast the next day. Find our scone recipe here. We also had some yummy shortbread -find the recipe here. One of my favourite tips for a great camping trip is do some baking the day before you go.
I also made some yummy homemade marshmallows and graham crackers -find the recipes here.
And what’s better for a gourmet s’more in the woods, than assorted chocolate bars in yummy flavours like oreo, cookie dough, caramel corn and peanut?
I really, really loved how this table came out. I bought a few new pieces, but most were thrifted, or found at garage sales. It’s all perfect camping gear, non-breakage, durable, up-cycled, and pretty. It really made me think about how it doesn’t really take too much more effort or money to make everyday beautiful.
With a pretty forest tea party in the woods, life really is a party!

What a fun idea! LOVE the mugs and metal pan the smores are in. I can't believe you found those napkins at the Dollar Store - I'm going to find some too. It looks like it was a fun event.

Super adorable! I love seeing people do something a little different! Plus, this is about the only way I would go camping. Like ever.
