Green, Black and White Easter Table: 8 different place settings to give you lots of inspiration for setting an extra special Easter Table.
Jump to:
Easter is just around the corner, and I thought it might be fun to give you a little Easter table inspiration.
I used green, black and white this year, but these ideas would work for any colour scheme. I always think it's fun to add a little detail to each place setting and I've got 8 different ideas of what you could add to a place setting for Easter or spring to make it extra special. Each place setting is different for this table -and I swapped a few extras out too, to give you lots of inspiration. Choose your favourite and use it on the whole table, or mix and match.
I used my wood plates for this table -they come in three different finishes a light wood, darker wood, and black. And they were the perfect stage for our little scenes.
I also used three different napkins for the table, just to give you more inspiration.
I've used black and white again this year for my Easter table -see last years black and white Easter table here, but also added in some green -just like I did for my spring home tour this year.
I've really been enjoying an eclectic boho feel lately. It's maximalist, full, and interesting since there is always something new to look at. It's perfect for spring and celebrating abundance after the stark days of winter.
It feels pulled together though by repeating elements. Down the centre of the table there are potted plants, spring blooms, brass, Easter eggs, and the colour scheme of black, white, and green to tie everything together. This is a great tip for making an eclectic look feel coherent -repeat different elements like colours (green, black, and white) and materials (wood, brass, glass, book pages, moss).
Each place setting is different to give you lots of different ideas and inspiration or your own table, but I have to admit it looks pretty fun, whimsical, and magical all together.
Plant Pot Bunny and Easter Eggs
These little paper plant pots for starting seeds in inspired me to make a cute little bunny with them. I cut the ears out of an old book page, and then used some oil pastel to add some pink to them.
The tail is made out of shredded book pages.
I drew a little face on the plant pot with a marker.
The ears and tail are attached with some hot glue.
These were really quick, easy, and inexpensive to make, so they'd be perfect for a larger gathering, to make one for each place setting. Fill them up with some Easter eggs for a treat for each guest.
Miniature Potted Succulent
I love adding plants to a table because they really do add life, and these miniature succulents are perfect for each place setting. These are actually faux and came in terracotta pots, which I painted grey. The miniature cloche on top is the perfect finishing touch.
Paper Butterfly and Pussy Willows
This place setting is really quick to put together. I found these beautiful paper butterflies at the dollar store. The package included 30 of all different sizes.
I used one of the large butterflies on the side plate, and then added a little vintage bottle holding a few stems of pussy willow.
This one is so simple, I think it's one of my favourites. And a whole table like this would be so beautiful. You could do this for each place setting, and then incorporate some into a centre piece too.
Plastic Bunny Container
I found these bunny containers at the dollar store. They look like chocolate, but they're actually fillable plastic containers. I added a little black ribbon to tie with our colours.
Inside you could add some candy for each guest to enjoy. Or here's another idea: add some money inside for a surprise. I thought it would be fun to put a dollar or two into all but one, and make one extra special with a larger amount like a $10 or $20 for one lucky guest. I'd keep it a secret and see who sat in the lucky spot.
Asian Spoon Nest
These Asian spoons are just from the dollar store, and perfect for holding a little tiny paper nest and egg. I made the nest from some shredded book pages -but Easter grass would work great too. In the nest is a chocolate egg, and I've added a little butterfly on top, but it would be really cute without it too. To tie in to our colour scheme, I added a little black ribbon as well.
Book Page Origami Bunny with Eggs
These sweet little origami bunnies aren't too complicated to make with instructions and video -I used this one from Gathering Beauty. I made the origami bunnies out of an old book page. These bunnies are little baskets and perfect for holding some Easter eggs for each guest. They're very inexpensive to make, but are a little time consuming. I'm sure after a few though, it would get faster, and one on each place setting would make such a cute Easter table. 😉
Miniature Golden Bunnies and Carrots
These miniature cloches are usually meant to hold a dessert, but this little scene is perfect for Easter. The plastic bunnies are from the dollar store and I've painted them with a little gold spray paint. I used some moss underneath them.
I thought the gummy carrot candies were a fun touch to go with the rabbits.
Easter Egg and a Vintage Postcard
Since I wanted this table to be black and white, I thought it would be fun to cover some eggs in some old book pages. I used a craft egg from the dollar store to make this. I cut strips of some old book pages, and then used regular glue and a paint brush to cover the egg.
The post cards are from a local antique store. It must have been very common 100 years ago to send a postcard greeting at Easter, because there were lots of them, and they're so pretty. If you couldn't find vintage ones you could use a free download and print some of your own on cardstock.
Sugar Cookies
I picked up these sweet little Easter sugar cookies at the bulk store -but you could find some at the bakery or make your own. I used two cookies since they were small and layered them on top of a paper doily.
It was so much fun putting all these ideas together for you. It was really great to get creative, and the table turned out so pretty -think I can leave it this way until Easter? I'm not sure if I can pick a favourite, each little idea turned out so cute. I hope it inspires you to have some fun decorating your table, and have a little fun getting creative.
