I had the great pleasure of attending my friend Alexander's first birthday a little while ago, it was a "Mustache Bash" and I thought you'd love to see all the fun details from this adorable mustache theme party. Nice to see a boy's party around here for a change? Yeah, me too. 😉
Mustache Party Decor
Alex's mom Katie, set up the little man birthday party in the backyard for close friends and family. I loved the Birthday banner, made with Alexander's Grandpa's ties, he just retired and since his business days are done, he was more than happy to contribute these for the birthday celebration. ;). Katie also added in some number 1s and the birthday boy's name "Alexander". I love personalized handmade party decor like this. She created it out of black and white card stock and used some clothes pins to attach the letters to the banner string. I also love that the name is reusable, and something she could change to fit any party theme or color scheme in the future. The name banner would be a great one to use for every birthday and add different accent pieces to for a different theme or type of party each year.
The party colour scheme was black and white and worked so well with the little man mustache party theme. I loved the main focal point dessert table.
Party guests were invited to grab a mustache to wear for the party as soon as they arrived, and there were a few great options to choice from..
Katie picked up the stick-on mustaches, and finger tattoos at the party store. Here she is with one of the finger tattoos held up to her upper lip -so cute.
I kind of loved Alexander's Dad's mustache the best though. Why did mustaches ever go out of everyday fashion? I think maybe we should bring them back
For those of us who couldn't grow one just for the party there were always stickers. Some people can just make anything look good. ;). The mustaches made great photo props.
Mustache Party Food
Katie made a great dinner for everyone, of Little Manwiches. They were delicious, and the easy way to feed a large party crowd.
She made pulled pork in the slow-cooker and offered lots of different bbq sauces, and buns for guests to make their own sandwich at the food table.
There were also bow ties -Pasta Salad made with bow tie pasta, and a veggie tray.
I loved the tie napkins Katie made -such a cute detail. She just folded regular black napkins and secured with a dab of glue. There's no need for napkin rings, when your napkin is a tie! These were so cute with the little men theme .
Mustache Party Drink Station
And for the drinks, a cute little "wet your whiskers" sign, and regular cups that Katie added mustaches to with a marker. So clever. I love this idea to personalize your party supplies for your own mustache party. There was punch, pop, and juice boxes for kids to enjoy.
Photo Booth
There was also a fun photo booth for guests, with some cute props for photos. I love the sign, "Comb on over to the Photo Booth...we mustache you to grab a prop and smile"! Love it. What a great way to capture some memories of the day. And the mustache props were so much fun.
Here's the birthday boy with a little top hat. He is the sweetest little boy, and his mustache birthday party was so much fun.
Mustache Party Dessert Table
Back to the dessert table, full of oh so sweet little delicious treats.
Katie made the cupcakes and decorated them with cute printables. She also made the birthday cake. I love how striking the simple black and white is and how perfectly it goes with the fun theme.
Katie found a chocolate mold at Bulk Barn and made the fun mustache chocolate lollipops. So cute here served in mason jars.
I made some mustache sugar cookies for the party, using a cute moustache cookie cutter, and decorating them with chocolate sprinkles. I baked them on a lollipop stick, and they were so much fun. Here's Alex's auntie modelling one for us.
Party Favors
As parting gifts, Katie made the cutest little "staches" to head home with.
Katie filled the bags with white and black gum balls, mustache bandaids, more tattoos and mustache stickers, and a chocolate lollipop mustache. Katie spotted the little favour bags in the wedding section of the dollar store, and made the labels. I love how they turned out.
One last little detail, Katie found the mustache pacifier at Chapters, tastes best when covered in birthday cake icing. 😉
I had such a good time celebrating Alex's first birthday at the Mustache Bash! I love themed parties, and this stash bash was such a great time. It would also be a great theme to use for Father's day, or for a mustache baby shower for a little boy, or even for a movember party. I hope you find all these mustache party ideas helpful if you planning any mustache parties.
With mustache's all round, life really is a party! Happy Birthday Alexander!
